Yoga retreat weekend in rural Kent

27-30 September 2024

Round off your summer with a weekend of yoga, delicious home cooked food, rest and relaxation in the beautiful Kent countryside

Practice yoga morning and evening; enjoy delicious yet healthy food prepared by our in house chef; choose to relax with a book, take a dip in the pool, or maybe take a stroll through the surrounding countryside or along the famous Kent coastline. Return home feeling renewed and restored!

What will the yoga be like?

We'll practice yoga morning and evening; poolside in the warmth of our private pool house (or outdoors if the weather allows! The paddock for our outdoor classes is shown in the short video above).

Start your day with an energising but mindful vinyasa flow. With a maximum of 10 people in class there will be ample opportunity for personal attention, and to deepen your practice by learning how to adapt the postures to best suit the needs of your own body. Each evening we'll wind down with a calming and grounding practice drawing on yin and restorative styles of yoga, rounded off with a guided relaxation. You'll float out of our evening sessions feeling relaxed, renewed and restored. In addition, we will also practice some simple meditation and breathing techniques that are perfect for keeping the stress free vibe going even after you get back home.

Please bring your own yoga mat. 

What will we eat?

Enjoy exceptional vegetarian meals carefully prepared by our talented chef with fresh, daily and locally sourced produce. After working up an appetite on your mat each morning we’ll enjoy a healthy brunch. Think eggs, oats, smoothies, yoghurt, seasonal fruit salads, nuts and seeds and pastries, all washed down with fresh juices, teas and coffees. 

After our evening practice we’ll round off the day with a delicious dinner. Our kitchen will also be kept fully stocked with snacks like bread, cheese, yoghurt, fruit, nuts, teas and coffees in case you get peckish during the day, or you could choose to walk to a nearby pub or perhaps take a trip to the beach for lunch.

Where are we staying?

Our home for the weekend is a charming converted farmhouse situated in the idyllic farming country of east Kent. The property dates from 1715 and is full of quirky features and antiques. Think rustic and homely rather than 5 star luxury! It has a traditional Kent oast and its own full-size heated indoor pool. We have a large paddock next to our venue where we can run outdoor yoga classes if the weather allows. One of the owners of our venue is a well-known artist and some of his works and books are displayed throughout the property.

What else will there be to do?

This is your weekend so you are welcome to do as much or as little as you please. We positively encourage you take time for a nap if you wish, or relax with a book, either in our snug farmhouse or in our surrounding gardens. We will have a wonderful masseuse staying with us on site so you could also choose to treat yourself to a massage (or two!).

If you fancy heading out, our venue is surrounded by fields and lovely Kent orchards which are ideal for country walks. If you fancy strolling to a local pub, the Chequer Inn in Ash, Copper's Bistro in Preston and The Rising Sun in Stourmouth are all within easy reach.

Interesting places to visit nearby include historic Sandwich and Canterbury with its world-renowned Cathedral, city walls and designer shopping and the nearby vineyards for Kent wine. We will be within a short drive of the famous beaches of Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Deal.

How much will it cost?

You can choose to have your own room, to have your own bed in a shared twin room or to share a double bed with a friend or partner.

Travelling solo but happy to share? If you are travelling solo, you can choose our ‘Happy to Share’ option when booking, which may enable you to share a twin room with other solo customers of the same gender who also request Happy to Share. If a share partner is found, the single supplement of £115 will be removed from your final balance. If a share partner is not found, the £115 supplement will remain and the full amount is payable.

You can reserve your place by putting down a 30% deposit. The balance will be payable by bank transfer 6 weeks before the retreat date, so by 16 August 2024. Choose from:

When is it?

Arrive any time after 4pm on Friday 27 September and depart by 11am on Monday 30 September 2024.

What’s included in the price?

Everything you need for the perfect weekend away is included:

  • 3 nights accommodation in our converted farmhouse

  • yoga morning and evening

  • fresh, wholesome brunch every day

  • a delicious vegetarian dinner each evening

  • fruits, nuts, breads, cheeses etc for snacking on during the day

  • unlimited tea, coffee and herbal teas

What’s not included?

  • your travel costs to and from Kent

  • a yoga mat - please bring your own

  • travel insurance (please insure the cost of your weekend and travel against the risk of you not being able to attend, as we cannot refund you in those circumstances)

  • massages or extra excursions (if you choose to book one)

  • lunch (we find that after a brunch and with a substantial dinner in the evening guests prefer a very light lunch. Snacks will be available all day at our venue. Or maybe you’ll choose to head out to a local beach for lunch, or stroll through the countryside to a nearby pub)

How do I get there?

We will be in rural east Kent, between Sandwich and Canterbury. From London, you could choose to get a train to Sandwich and then take a short taxi ride (we can help you find local taxi companies if you need). If you choose to drive, we have plenty of parking on site.

Can I come on my own?

Absolutely, lots of guests on each of our retreats arrive independently. There is always a warm and welcoming atmosphere with communal activities available, plus ample opportunity for you to take some quiet time for yourself too. You can choose to have your own room or we can pair you up with another lovely solo traveller.

Is it all group activities or can I take some quiet me time?

We will eat brunch and dinner together and people often group together to go on trips, take a walk or just have a chat. But everyone is also positively encouraged to take time to themselves to read, take a stroll in the countryside, relax with a swim, go on a solo adventure or just nap in their room.

How many people will there be in class?

Numbers will be limited to a maximum of 10 people, so lots of opportunity for individual attention.

I’m a beginner to yoga - can I still come? / I’d like to bring a friend/ partner who is a beginner - is that ok?

Of course! Everyone is welcome. Everyone who books also gets free access to our online, on demand beginners course, completion of which will set you up perfectly for our morning flow classes. And our much slower evening classes will be completely suitable for all levels.

What is your cancellation policy?

No refunds. Please make sure you have travel insurance that will cover both the cost of this trip and your travel arrangements if you cannot make it. Exceptions cannot be made for any reason, including weather, injury/illness (including COVID), or personal emergencies. We also cannot issue partial refunds if you decide to arrive late or leave early. Your travel insurance should also cover medical expenses in the event that you have an accident during your trip.

Is there anything else I need to know?

Please be aware that there may be a quiet, well behaved dog on site over the weekend.
