Top off your summer with a long weekend in our historic family home in the Austrian Alps. Practice yoga morning and evening to the sound of a nearby river rushing down the valley just below our studio; relax our with a book and take in the gorgeous scenery; enjoy delicious local produce for breakfast and dinner and maybe take a stroll along the valley, take a packed lunch to venture further afield into the mountains or take a dip in a stunning unspoilt lake nearby. Return home feeling relaxed and restored!

We'll practice yoga morning and evening. Start your day with an energising but mindful vinyasa flow in our cosy loft studio with exposed beams and stunning views of the surrounding valley from each window. You'll set yourself up for the day ahead by moving in time with your breath, and strengthening and stretching all your major muscle groups. There will be ample opportunity for personal attention, and to deepen your practice by learning how to adapt the postures to best suit the needs of your own body. Each evening we'll wind down with a calming and grounding practice drawing on yin and restorative styles of yoga, rounded off with a guided relaxation to the sound of the river that runs down the valley just below our studio. You'll float out of our evening sessions feeling relaxed, renewed and restored. In addition, we will also practice some simple meditation and breathing techniques that are perfect for keeping the relaxed vibe going even after you get back home to real life. Weather permitting, we can also choose to take our classes outdoors.
Weather permitting our meals will be served at the top of our venue’s 13th century tower, granting us 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains and the sound of the river below us while we eat. Our experienced chef will use organic produce sourced as locally as possible for each of our meals - our eggs even come straight from local farmers in the village. Tea and coffee will be available for you to help yourself to throughout your stay, plus our hosts will provide welcome snacks when we arrive. All meals will be vegetarian.
After working up an appetite on your mat each morning, breakfast will include seasonal fruit, overnight oats, home made sourdough, foraged berry compotes and eggs from local hens, plus juices, teas and coffees. You can choose to have a light lunch on site at our home for the weekend, or take a packed lunch out with you if you prefer to go exploring for the day. And each evening our delicious dinners will be based on a mix of European, Middle Eastern & Asian influences - think hearty soups and curries, fragrant spices and healthy grains. Our home for the weekend is a traditional yet unique Austrian house, which is part of a country estate dating back to the 12th century. A stone tower, part of the castle that originally sat on this land, now gives the house its distinct image.
The house is steeped with history. Having been in the same family for centuries you’ll find antiques, paintings and traditional furniture, making it an extremely interesting place to stay. The house is spacious and warm, filled with character and stories. Guests are always encouraged to make themselves at home here and will find fluffy bathrobes and slippers in each of the bedrooms.
The tower offers panoramic views over the village and up to the surrounding mountains. It is a beautiful place to eat breakfast on a summer morning or to relax with a book in one of our hammocks.
Set in a picturesque Tyrollean farming village located 1,223m above sea level, our home for the weekend is only 25 minutes from Innsbruck and 20km from the Brenner Pass into Italy. Despite our peaceful surroundings, Innsbruck, Salzburg and Munich international airports are all within easy reach.
Our village is welcoming, tranquil and filled with natural beauty as well as being one of the sunniest spots in the Wipptal area. Within the village there are restaurants that offer superb traditional Austrian food, great pizzas, ice cream sundaes and steaks that our hosts are convinced are the best in the world.
This is your weekend away so how much or how little you do is completely up to you. You are positively encouraged to just sit and admire the views, take some alone time as you stroll by the river or curl up for a nap in one of our home’s cosy chairs.
Or, if you’re feeling more energetic, the surrounding mountains have some of the richest flora in the Alps and are criss-crossed by more than 300km of hiking and biking trails. Mountain huts that dot the area offer comforting, local food and can be reached on foot, bike or skis throughout the year. Venture out of our village into its network of interconnected valleys called the Wipptal and there are glaciers to marvel at, lakes to swim in, peaks to conquer, chapels to admire, towns to visit and endless activities for every energy level.
Innsbruck is just 25 minutes away and a wonderful city to explore. The 'capital of the Alps' joins alpine and urban influences with its beautiful cobbled streets, modern museums and fairy tale castles. Or take the cable car up Nordkette for breathtaking panoramic views of the city and mountains. There is also the Olympic Bobsleigh track, which is open for guest rides in summer and winter.
The Brenner Pass into Italy is only 15mins away, making it possible to cross over to explore the start of the Dolomites on a day trip from our village. There are also numerous opportunities for rock or ice climbing, mountain biking, road cycling, horse riding, ski touring and swimming throughout the area.
Our early bird prices are available for bookings made before 31.12.2018, and you can secure your spot at an early bird price now with just a 25% deposit. You can choose to share a bed with your partner or friend, to have your own bed in a shared room, or to have your own gorgeous room. All rooms are for one or two people unless requested. You can also choose either your own ensuite or a shared bathroom.

How do I get there?
Our nearest airports are Innsbruck (30 minutes drive away), Salzburg and Munich (both about 2.5 hours away). There will be a free transfer leaving Innsbruck airport on Friday 13 August 2019, and leaving our venue to head back to Innsbruck airport on Monday 19 August. Once flights have been released for August 2019 we will confirm the exact times of the transfers. You can also choose to fly into Munich (which has a wide choice of flights from London) or Salzburg airport and either drive to our venue or catch a train to Innsbruck to meet our transfer.
Can I come on my own?
Absolutely, lots of guests on each of our retreats arrive independently. There is always a warm and welcoming atmosphere with communal activities available, plus ample opportunity for you to take some quiet time for yourself too.
Is it all group activities or can I take some quiet me time?
We will eat our meals together and people often group together to go on trips, take a walk or just have a chat. But everyone is also positively encouraged to take time to themselves to read, take a stroll through the stunning scenery, go on a solo adventure or just nap in their room.
How many people will there be in class?
Numbers will be limited to a maximum of 10 people, so lots of opportunity for individual attention.

What if I reserve a place then can't make it?
If your circumstances change and you cannot make the retreat in August 2019, we will try to fill your place. If either we or you can fill your empty space we will refund your deposit to you. We normally have a waiting list for our retreats. So if you do realise you can't attend let us know as soon as possible and we can speak to them on your behalf!

Having been on my share of retreats now I can say yours has pretty much been the most laid back one I’ve done so far (not that the others were anything crazy) and I think that was purely down to your very relaxed and no pressure attitude.
